p_4204
Scene: a large interior of a gymnazium. This is for animation I am going to create a photon map of the interior of the scene and want to know if I continue to add people or chairs as the scene progresses, will they appear black or less illuminated because they weren't in place before the map was created? Do I need to greate a new map for each camera shot? I will also be using final gather.
Justin Hunt
do you mean that as the animation plays, people etc will move into the space or as the modelling/ project progresses more people etc will be added? If the former, depending on the movement you could get away with it, although there will be artifacts. They will recieve illuminationbut not accuratly. The direct light ,ie not the bounced light, will be accurate. If the latter, it is best to create the photon map right at the end,if one exists, delete it and recreate it. Same deal with final gather jhv
