danb4026
Is anyone else have problems with vrayscatter 2.0 for sp3? I can't get it to work right at all. The whole thing is a mess.
Trick
Please be specific. Do you have the new VRayScatter update specifically for VRay 1.5 sp3 installed ?
danb4026
Yes I downloaded the latest build....2.04 Beta 1)Vray freezes at close to end of render. 2)Values for Distribution Count are in Feet and Inches and will not move up or down. 3)Scale values are in distances as well and amounts cannot be changed. 4) None of the spinners work at all....numbers will not increase or decrease. 5) I get an "Unhandled Exception" almost all of the time at render time. 6) and best of all....the proxies dont render at all Its just a mess
Trick
To be specific: I tested VRayScatter 2.04 beta for Max2008_32bit under XPsp2_32bit and checked for all your issues: none of the six !! Have you installed the VRayScatter WS-version ? Maybe your Max or VRay-installation is corrupt ? I also had some renders on my 64bit Max2008 farm, without issues. The only thing I see is that the instances in the viewport (even if the distribution count and the preview count are the same) are not rendered in the same place as the instances in the final render. I also can not figure out what happens if you have collision radius set: instances still penetrate each other even if you have an insane high radius

I have VrayScatter WS. Within vrayscatter, does your "count" option show distances or a general number for entry?
danb4026
If you look at the attachments, you will see some of the problems. I set the "count" to 20 and the "preview" to 5, yet the viewport shows something entirely different. You will notice that the "count" is in dimensions rather than general numbers. Also the proxies are not on the distribution plane. On top of that, the render shows no proxies at all.
danb4026
Here is another image showing possible reason why proxies are off of the distribution plane.
Trick
Wow, this all looks indeed very strange. I have 2009 but never installed it, so I can not say anything about your problems. Best would be to report this directly to iCube and hope for a fast response. Is there a possibility you can make a clean Max2009 install ?
danb4026
Max 2009 works just fine. I can't justify doing a clean install of max just for vrayscatter. I will use GroundWiz instead.
