nelpiper
Hi guys. I know this topic has been widely discussed but does anyone have a good and certain way to get rid of the noise like the ones on the render? It seems that whenever I make a material glossy reflective, this kind of noise pops up. Thanks.
STRAT
in the c4d version we have a glossy subdivs spinner in the material channels which is on a default of 8. 12-16 should be enough.
nelpiper
Yeah, we got this in MAX as well but it's already at 16 and still I got this noise. Thanks anyway.
Stephen Thomas
Your image sampling settings are probably stopping vray from resolving the noise. Go with Adaptive DMC, min=3, max=6, disable the 'use DMC' box and set color threshold to 0.001. That should eliminate your noise issues. If you want a good tutorial on image sampler settings here's a couple of places to start: http://www.cgarchitect.com/upclose/VI/Week17/image_sampling.pdf http://gnomonology.com/tutorial/

viv_ram_arun
1)u can also try incresing the sub divisions of vray light(guess default would be 8 try 12. 2)try to increse the reflec glossi of the material to 0.85 or .09 3,if you had swithched on frensel reflection, try with out it. cheers
Joseph Petrino
click "Use Interpolation" and then up the samples to about 80 in the "reflect interpolation" rollout. It's fast and almost noiseless. hope that helps.
nelpiper
Hi guys. I used a falloff in the reflection glossiness slot and worked quite good. Still got some noise but is perfectly acceptable. The interpolation doesn't work for me as I had a bad experience in the past because this is an animation. Still thanks for the tip. Thanks all guys.
