TomA
Hi, What's the easiest and most straight forward software to use for making websites? I'm thinking of setting one up; something simple and attractive to display my work. I had a play around with Dreamweaver a couple of years ago and it was more difficult than I expected. Maybe I need to give it another bash + maybe it has improved/become easier esp since Adobe took it over? T
Chad Warner
You could try Word press. It's technically used for blogging, but it'll set up a fairly straight forward website without really having to know what you're doing. Plus there's tons of templates out there. brianzajac
Dreamweaver hasn't gotten any easier over the years. It's just got more web-based technological "stuff". I would agree with Chad on using Wordpress. If you don't like that, there's Blogger, Joomla, and a host of other freebie/minor fee CMS sites out there. Of course if you want it looking professional, hire one. They'll either get you up to speed on these programs or custom design in Dreamweaver. If designed in Dreamweaver, get a hold of the client-based software complimentary to it - Adobe Contribute. It's very simple to use if the site is set up correctly. Crazy Homeless Guy
You could use Simple Viewer. You could have a decent looking portfolio site up and running in about 20 minutes. I've been using their AutoViewer for my web clients. And it's been working for years with no hassles. The only thing I would say is that you need to use Google Picasa with it. It's no big deal to use it (and it's free), but worth mentioning. BTW, if you can insert JavaScripts inside your web pages, check out these: http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/indexb.html. I've got examples of a few my other company has used: http://eyemagination.us/artist.cfm.
TomA
Thanks for all your suggestions! Just to let you know I decided to go with Simple Viewer. I think it's fine for now although I might look into something more advanced in the future...
