ReneRumberg
What is the difference between 3ds Max 2009 and 3ds Max Design 2009? One has the "Design" in the name and other doesn't. I heard that 3ds Max Design is for architects, designers and visualization specialists and 3ds Max is for professionals in the gaming, film and television industries. But I also heard that the new scene explorer is Horrible. Is it true? Also if someone knows then is 3ds Max Design 2009 workspace way different from 3ds Max 2009 because I'm so used to it with the regular 3ds Max 2009 workspace etc. Edited March 25, 2009 by ReneRumberg
danb4026
I have both and I cant tell the difference on a day to day basis. Design has the added Lighting Analysis and regular 2009 may have some animation tools that design doesn't have, other than that, they are the same. You can make the workspace anyway you like by customizing so that's not an issue and there is also a way to use the Legacy Scene explorer, so thats not an issue either. Same software.
