Valaskjalf14
Hi searched the forum but couldnt find anything specific I use Archicad 12 along with C4d Architectural Edition 10.5 and everything is working out fine...however I want to know how I can change the scale of textures placed on the model brought in from AC. Its fine when I do it with normal objects but since the model brought into C4D is a polygon I cant seem to change the texture scale, only the scale of the seperate elements (ie roof, wall etc.) I tried changing the coordinates but that also results in the increase of the polygons itself not the textures placed on them. Frosty
Please verify how the textures are mapped to the objects and how you are trying to change their size. Screen caps would help a lot.
Valaskjalf14
Hi, my C4D lingo isnt so great, ive only started playing around with it a few days ago so I guess my vocab is a bit limited. But once the archicad model is opened into C4D all the objects (walls, roofs etc) are brought in seperate so I can change all of their textures -> open the material browser and just drag it onto the specific object. But noticed that when i apply a texture to an object made WITHIN c4d like a cube, I am then able to adjust the size of the texture from the "basic" tab. hope the pics help, the screen cap shows where I try to adjust the texture on screen. Frosty
Highlight one of the texture tags in question (to the lext of the object in the object manager) and give me a screeny of the attributes of that tag. I use mostly cubic mapping and adjust the size in the coordinates tab of the texture tag. My suspicion is that your predefined texturing has come through as UVW which operates a bit differently. Posting a zip of the file might also be useful.

Frosty
When you highlight the material tag in the object manager, its properties will become visible in the attributes manager. You can change any of the attributes such as size and mapping type. I think your AC model will come in with the materials set to UVW mapping. I find the materials much easier to work with when set to cubic - generally speaking. With cubic mapping you can change the size of the material on the object with the coordinates tab. This is of course a very broad suggestion for texture mapping and there are many situations where cubic mapping is not the best choice. Additionally, I have never used an AC imported model. Valaskjalf14
Great thanks! Think I got the hang of it, seems that you were right they were set to UVW mapping, and I noticed when I select a roof/slab etc and drag the chosen texture on there, the box you refer to in the image gets displayed and I can change the texture scale. It even works for UVW, eventhough I have to option of changing it to cubic. Thanks for the help
