ReneRumberg
I really still haven't figured this out. For example like this one http://features.cgsociety.org/newgallerycrits/g10/186110/186110_1238408638_medium.jpg

danb4026
Is your problem creating the shape or making the hole?
ReneRumberg
Both Creating shaped holes into the wall like this one.
WAcky
Like Ky mentioned, check out booleans. I'm sure the Max help file will provide more info that you need to get started with them. You'll have your shape cut in no time.
ReneRumberg
I know how to cut squared shaped holes into the wall but not circle shaped holes etc.
rmccoy
you could just draw the wall as an editable spline including the curvy lines. make sure all of the lines are on the same editable spline and then extrude it. I try to avoid booleans like the plague.
Ky Lane
This is like first year modelling. Drop in a box for the wall. Then draw a shape using the spline tool, extrude it so it passes through the wall, then use a boolean modifier to make it cut it out of the wall. About 30secs work. johnvid
As has been mentioned use 2D splines first, and extrude, Not the Wall tool, though if you can boolean a square out of a wall then you should be able to do a circle, but it is possibly easier this with a 2D Spline....make sure that After creating the first spline for the wall, that you untick create new shape, so that subsequent splines are part of the first spline(or you can 'attach' them later, and you an also boolean splines to create more acurate/complex shapes), they must also be on exactly the same plane, then add the extrude modifier and your wall is done.
