mesht
By reading the specs of this machine, i think the Z800 has overtaken Mac Pro as the most powerful personal workstation... check out the latest Nvidia FX cards, wonder if they beat the ATI 4870 out of the water?! beside the cable-free system in Mac Pro...everything else is beyond what MacPro can offer...well, maybe it's too early to tell but from the spec of the Z800, it looks indeed to push MacPro out of the way
AJLynn
You've managed to completely miss the point. The Mac Pro is a Mac. The HP is not.
Slinger
A Mac has Intel processors, runs nvidia gfx cards, can use Microsoft OS's. I am sorry, but a Mac is a freaking personal computer. The only thing that separates a Mac from all other PCs is its proprietary operating system and it's absurd price tags. The aluminum cases are sweet though
AJLynn
Typical Windows fans. OSX isn't proprietary. Windows is proprietary. OSX is certified Unix which is the most useful open OS standard. BTW, absurb price tags? Look at your favorite company, Dell, and their workstation prices. Apple's got a $3300 dual-quad Nehalem in a configuration that's usable. Dell's got... even if you only use dual-quad E5440's you're looking at over $4000. And if I want Dell tech support I'll be spending an hour on hold to talk with somebody at a call center in India. If I want Apple tech support I've got 3 Apple stores within 30 minutes of me where I get to talk to the people in person. Apple is so far and away superior it's a no brainer. The only reason to use a PC is if you want a cheap laptop or have to use Autodesk products. Even Melinda Gates wants a Mac but there's a no-Apple-products rule in that house. (True story.) (True story.)No, she wants an IPhone, not a Mac computer. get the story right. And my favorite company is not Dell. My favorite company is Newegg

manta
Since you can now run Windows on a Mac and can run OSX on a PC I think the argument has lost a lot of its wind...just pick whichever one you want....its up to you...
