mckichan
I purchased Brian Smith's book, 3DS Max 2009 intermediate to advanced, and am in chapter 5. The explination for tile roofing is great! But I am stumped on how you get the tiles on the curved overhang roof section at the entry... your help would be greatly appreciated.
Brian Smith
in front view, line up one row vertically from the fascia to the ridge, use the array tool with the center apex as the pivot point. create the separation based on the lowest laying tiles (at the fascia), and if you want to go above and beyond, delete any tiles that overlap too much or that sit on top of each other as a result of the array. you can always do it manually...which while time consuming might be worthwhile because it allows you to avoid the 'too perfect' look of the array tool. thanks for the comment btw.
