hello guys, i've got 2 questions about materials, in max + vray thanks in advance

1. i've got glass door, and i have logo which has to be stiked on glass, but logo is bleu text and beckground is white, but i don't need this white color, i need only blue text. is it possible to make something with this? (mask or...?)

2. i've got glass, and transparancy has to be changed from floor till ceiling, so near the floor has to be some kind of white color and near the ceiling has to me totally transparant glass.

could you help me in this?

thx

thank you for reply

could you please tell me what is B/W ? is it in photoshop?

i use photoshop as well, so i can do somthing with this.

thx

1. You can't mask automaticaly the white background. You have to create B/W mask file in photoshop or other raster program

2. Try to use "gradient" for transperancy slot.

wish you luck :)

B/W stands for Black and White.

In Photoshop:

Select the blue part of your image (or white and then inverse the selection). and then fill it with black. Save your image as a new .jpg. This will create the mask that you need.

In Max:

Place the image you just created in a the opacity slot of a mix texture (I believe this is correct, I do not have max in front of me right now). Put the first material in one slot and your second material in the other. You may need to switch the materials around depending on how the mask image you created works.

To get the transition between milky to clear. You can do it two different ways.

Put a black to white gradient map in either the refraction map slot. Or put the black to white gradient in the opacity slot.

many thanks

this one works too :)
