janmazan
I have created a displacement map for a vertical tile hanging material which works well however gaps are formed at all the corners. How can I get around this? I have seen other people commenting on here saying that using the mesh smooth set to 0 will work however although this closes the corners on my image, I appear to loose quality? Please see image attached.
Stalkie
I had this problem recently. If you use 3d mapping check ' keep continuity' and that should sort it out.

Stalkie
That's new to me - what is the shift option? H
markf
I have had the same problem. Often I need to use 2D mapping for displacement. My understanding is that 3D mapping is used with procedural maps and 2D mapping is used with bitmap maps. I tried using 3D mapping with a 2D bitmap and it caused crash. My solution is to invert the 2D map and use negative displacement. I also am curios about the Shift option. I have not heard of this
