Greg Law
When I bring in a Legacy DWG of, say this balustrade, I get a very dense mesh. Is there anyway to reduce the mesh in the import or is a setting in Autocad wrong? This image is typical of what I'm getting

Greg Law
Sorry about that. Seen as I didn't get a reply I figure everyone thought I should have know this basic issue. It has been one of those things that for some reason I couldn't find the right command. But as soon as I posted I found the answer myself. Anyway. The things that seem to effect it are. "Surface deviation" it need to be higher than default. eg default was ".1" I ended up with "1.7". The other thing to watch is the "weld threshold". by default it is ".1" which will mess up smaller objects like my balustrade. It should be ".01" or even ".001". I hope that helps. I've only just started messing around with 2010 so can't comment on it at this stage. Looks good.
