craigball
Does anyone know how to Render multiple cameras one after the other? Without manually changing the cameras.
BrianKitts
From the file menu, select Rendering > Batch Render
Crazy Homeless Guy
Yes, batch render, but also, there are more advanced batch rendering script. My current favorite is the one by Illusion Scripts called RenderTab. It has more options than the default one, though it is still not perfect. dean@pikcells
you could also set up back burner and render through that. it also has it other advantages too.

Tommy Burns
Hi Brian You can animate virtually anything you need with it cameras, materials objects etc. I found it very handy with glass in that you could change the ref/rfraction properties appropriate to the view or change the position of your sky if it is reflecting badly in the glass. I use mental ray all the time and mr photographic exposure. Only thing is it was a bit buggy in max design 2009. What was happening was that using the autokey wasn't working and some of the sliders didn't turn red until you used a few manual set keys on the camera/materials/objects etc.. Then when you did this it all seemed grand although it wrecked my head for a while. Hope it's fixed in the next one. I find this way really really handy and effortless it doesn't seem that many use this workflow though. I love to hear from others that use it what they do as I'm sure we ccould share tips and different uses of it. Hope this helps Tommy Edited April 10, 2009 by Tommy Burns
SandmanNinja
do you animate the exposure changes of your camera? or do you do this only with a standard cam? I always animate the camera and render the frames out then you only need one camera works a treat!!! I do the same and find it very easy, although I'm thinking of starting to use Video Post and to handle the multiple cameras. When I set up lighting, the same exposure settings tend to get used throughout the animation run. Of course, I separate interiors from exteriors. With Zap's script, I guess you could use mrCamera and vary your exposure.
Crazy Homeless Guy
So are you guys animating your "Apply Camera Correction" modifier? I have animated cameras in this fashion previously, but always find that setting a bit buggy when trying to create an animation from one camera point to another. Tommy Burns
Yes I have used this for camera correction and it's handy although like you I found it a bit buggy but I think the reason was that I moved it while I wasn't in animation mode so I learned not to do that. SandmanNinja
Once I had a bunch of furniture selected when I had the camera selected and moved them to animate the camera movement. I kept tripping out when in one frame the couch was on the left side of the room but in the next frame it was in the middle!
Tommy Burns
Ha ha I know the feeling that is the thing about using animation this way you have to be very disciplined when moving things about and make sure you only have the selected objects you need to move and " that the autokey is turned on"

signet
you have to check out RPManager http://www.rpmanger.com Its like scene states on steriods but it works! I usually set it up at the beginning of the project with final render settings and all the paths for irr maps and animations all set up ready to go for all the cameras in a scene. you can then just preview any camera with out having to touch the render dialog.....set up once and never miss a setting when you send it to final render ever again! it even remembers sun positions per pass as well as materials and other custom settings I should be a sales rep for Grant at RPM! I love it
