SandmanNinja
Has anyone tried rendering with Max 2010 on a Windows 7 platform, to see if the render engine makes all other programs become unresponsive until the render has been completed? Just specing out the 'next' computer for end of this year or early next year and I'm thinking an 8-core motherboard with 3ds 2010 (2011??) and Windows 7. Come to think of it, has anyone experienced this behavour on any version of Windows and 3ds 2010?
3dway'OLife
i've installed windows 7 x64 and max 2010 x64 under bootcamp on my macbook pro and i have to say i'm very inpressed. The OS is just as responsive whilst rendering as it is normally. Even the quick preview features work without lag whilst rendering. I've previously tried vista64 and it was practically unusable so settled for XP64. Windows 7 is still only in RC but unless they screw something up drastically i think its safe to say its gonna be a winning combo
SandmanNinja
That's pretty much what I was hoping to hear. Not a fan of Vista so I'm running XP64, but am hearing some good things about Windows 7. Thanks very much for the reply.
