Michael J. Brown
In AutoCAD there is a way to set the active elevation so that all objects drawn or modified get done so at a user-defined elevation/height (i.e., 10' A.F.F., etc.) Is this doable in MAX? I could always just model everything for my second floor, then move it all up. But it'd be much simpler drawing directly on that upper level automatically. Thanks. Derek Forreal
i don't think you can do that but a possible workaround would be to create a plane, put it at the correct elevation and then build on the plane using autogrid. edit: actually, you can create a custom grid and put that at the right elevation and then build on that... should be a better solution
anton
Custom grids work perfect for that.

jsf
File link your Autocad drawing into max and move your second floor layer to the height you want it and follow the suggestions for using the custom grid already mentioned.
