rmccoy
The architect or contractor may still have them depending on when it was built. Not sure how it works in England. But in the US a lot of times you have to submit your construction documents to the local building department who will issue the building permits and such. You may be able to get a hold of them from a similar local agency.
mbowers
Architects and Contractors rarely keep the plans on hand as they take up too much space. If your dads house isn't paid off, the bank may have a copy. You could go to the Building and Safety department to find out if they have a record, otherwise it would be time to get out the good 'ol tape measure. jsf
You may want to measure anyway. Shockingly, not all buildings are built to plan.
Frosty
Buildings are RARELY built to plan. Unless you get a set of "As Built" or "Record" drawings, there will certainly be deviations.
nymn
More than likely in the time you spend searching for the info you could easily layout the basic design of the floorplan with little more than a 25' tape and some graph paper.. even if you have to fudge some walls or closets a couple inches it probably wont affect the level of detail in a render. Justin Hunt
your local planning authority should have a plan, for a fee of cause. jhv
