SandmanNinja
Have you tried opening a clean, empty file and merging in the objects from the other (bad) scene? Max seems to have a habit of corrupting its files. I make frequent saves, with increasing numbers at the end (i.e. kitchen-01, kitchen-02, etc)

Crazy Homeless Guy
When Max is acting bad deleting the 3dsmax.ini file is always a good place to start. As far as troubleshooting... If the file is layered, turn on 3 layers at a time, and only rotate with those layers on. If there is corrupt geometry, this will allow you to start to isolate the layer, which will make it easier in locating hte bad objects.
SandmanNinja
I could load the file fine and was able to move the scene around - pan, zoom, rotate, etc. Whatever the problem was, I think the file itself is fine. Nice looking model. There are 180,000 polys - maybe it's your hardware? Here is an AO render of the scene. Rendered on: Max 2009 Design Q6600 Quad-Core 8-gigs ram WinXP64 nVidia 8800GT w/1-gig ram
Stalkie
Could it be the view cube problem? I had a file with a lot of polys and it crashed continuously every time I tried to pan/zoom/rotate. There have been several threads about it and how to turn it off, it might be worth a try...
SandmanNinja
Good observation, Helen. I long ago turned the View Cube off. He emailed me his computer system details and the only difference is his video card. Another place to look is his drivers - make sure they are up to date (Especially his video drivers)
