Interior Hotel Room

This took me a couple of days. I used this an exercise to experiment more with reflection interpolation. I Built everything but the lemons, which I took from an Evermotion file and used a Bionatics flowering plant and onyx palms in the background. I hardly spent anytime on the plants, so if they are not up to par, that is why.

C&C please!

Your materials need to be tweaked - The floor I think would benefit from a higher reflection, and the lemons are pretty weak. Once in photoshop get some glows from your lights and bump up the contrast. Overall the image feels flat. Looking forward to seeing an update!

i think the balance is off and that is what is making it feel incomplete... there is alot going on in the composition on the right side and bottom but the left side of the image is a blank wall with no furnishing or interest... you may consider changing the angle or breaking up the far wall somehow... the rendering quality is pretty good and the i am definitely feeling the "mood" of the lighting... i agree that you may want to tweak the materials on those objects closest to the camera...

lets see some updates =)

ok...your crits are well taken and I will get on adjustments right away and post updates for your perusal. Thanks.

Any suggestions for that far wall? Or what I should do to balance out the scene. I need to keep the camera angle.

The far wall are actually closet doors that you push in to pop open, so there is no hardware.

Much Better! I'm still not completely sold on the lemon material but it's better. Also, I have to agree with Shane - I would like to see something on the wall to the left to break up that area. Or possibly rotate your camera around just a bit.

Dan I definitely like the second one over the first, the contrast change made it "pop" and got rid of the ambient haze you had going in the original. I tend to lean on the high contrast side so it may bit a little much to someone else but i think you're in the right range. If those are doors that need access then I'm at a loss with the balancing. If it was me I might try an area rug or a small framed wall hanging or something just to break up the texture in that area. Honestly it looks pretty good without it though, its just a matter of how much it gets under your skin =)

Excellent work!

I dont know if you have the entire scene modeled or just that view but a mirror of some sort may add a nice effect... or just some variation in the door panels with some molding or something... just trying to throw some ideas out..

good luck =)
