philipkrogh
Hi guys, I would like to render for example only the glass of a bulding to be able to edit it in photoshop (post render editing for each layer in the model). What is the best way of doing this? thx Philip
danb4026
Would rendering a mask be helpful to you? Meaning, where everything other then your windows renders black and the windows render white, so that you can use that as a mask in PS to edit just windows. If that is what you mean, you can use a vraymaterialwrapper to create a matte/shadow material, which I won't get into yet, or you can use a script that works very well. http://www.tepavicharov.com/scripts.html The script is called "rendermask". You just choose the object that you want isolated, run the script, and it renders the mask. Works like a charm. Remember that a mask doesn't understand transparency, so the windows and what is behind those windows will all be the same.
