RevitGary
I am trying to get a satin finish on a floor. I dont seem to be having any luck. I tone down a raytrace reflection to about 10 percent but it is still a sharp reflection not soft and blurred. See attachments for examples of what I am trying to do. I am using max 2009 scanline Thanks

RevitGary
I have looked at the tutorial and applied a bump map as suggested. I still cant get the look I am going for. The image in the toturial looks close but I cant even get that close with the settings they suggest. Any suggestions on a specific bump map and setting I can use to get this effect? I have been struggling with this for hours.
RevitGary
OK I got something I like. If others want to know I used a mix map in the reflection map slot. With a mix of flat mirror and raytrace. See attached jpg
LuckyST
try adding a direct light(or enable shadows) somewhere just so you know how the shadows would effect the result.
