Fernando
How do one create a tensile fabric structure in Max like this..... http://www.dhdinternational.com/HTML/tensile.html Any tutorials? Thanks
Ricardo Eloy
Wazzup? Well, there are several ways you can do this...First, you can draw the tensile structure using splines and apply the Edit Mesh modifier. That'll give you a mesh you can modify anyway you like. Second, you can creat a plan with as many faces as you want and apply Edit Mesh again. Then, you can pull a vertex up with the Soft Selection option on. You see, they're very similar in concept, I'm sure you'll have no problems using them. [] Rick
RJL
I would draw a plane object and apply a Free Form Deform (FFD) modifier - usually the 4 point one. In my experience it does a nicer job of simulating the stretching of a mesh than soft selection. This is of course assuming that your tensile object has only four corners.
