Geoffc
We're trying to do some topography in sketchup: importing polylines with z-coordinates, using the sandbox to create a mesh. Then I'm bringing in a solid with a shape I'd like to stamp into the sandbox mesh. It stamps down seemingly fine, but upon more careful inspection, you can see that the sides of the stamped edges are now tapered. For instance, I brought in a corner topography section, use an outline of a road to stamp down into it, then when I bring in the actual road topos, there is a sizable gap between the road edges and the stamped topography. Is this a mistake on our part? Or some sort of glitch/"feature" in Sketchup? Thanks!
siliconbauhaus
I might be wrong here but I believe stamp uses a offset whereas drape will match your outline. I'd try using drap and go get youtself the joint push pull ruby script and you'll be able to pull the areas correctly in the Z axis.
