jinsley
Hey guys, I don't have alot of experience with animation but have recently been asked to provide a fly-around for a client... I am having troubles with the exported files' gamma... I currently have max set to 2.2, the test animation done over the weekend is definately wrong (much too dark)... What should my typical settings be for the movie file??? Should I be exporting individual images??? Using max 2009, Mental Ray with very low FG numbers, exporting to .avi -JI
jinsley
sorry, figured it out... forgot to override the gamma control to 2.2 in the file output tab.
Crazy Homeless Guy
A better solution would be to set your slaves to "Load Enable State with Max File." This way Max reads the gamma stored in your file when it is loading the scene to render the image.
ihabkal
and render separate frames instead of an avi, and then assemble in post. a power outage (we get that every day for 3 hours) would ruin you avi rendering. a crash would too. with frames you can pickup where it stops.
