CList
OK, I'm pretty new to acad, so please be gentle... If I have a 3dsolid, I can select a face by holding the ctrl key and moving the mouse around - all good. Now if I have (2) 3dsolids, and I union them, I can select one of the objects by doing the same thing; the ctl-select, but I can no longer subselect the FACE of either of the two sub-objects. Is there a trick to be able to subselect the face of one of the subobjects of a joined solid, or is not possible? Thanks, CList
Peter M. Gruhn
Seems quite possible. Select the object. Ctrl-select the sub-object. Ctrl-select the face. To select a face on the other sub-object, go back to the beginning... Select the object. Select the sub object...
CList
Ah I see! Unfortunately I think I was confused because my drawing has gotten rather complicated in the area I was working on and when I'd try and do the second ctl-click it would keep picking other objects behind the object I wanted to get the face of. I think I'm going to have to organize my layers differently or split this detail area off into a it's own file and then import it back when it's done. Thanks for the info, Chris
