Dave Oliver
are is there any way to control globally (without going through every material) - reflection / refraction subdivisions for all materials (to set them all to the same value) - reflection / refraction interpolation (to turn it off globally for large scenes) thanks for any help, it would take a long time to do this for each material individually

Not sure about the interpolated samples. You can turn off reflection/refraction in the Global switches roll-out though.
Dave Oliver
yeah, i want to use glossyness, but some materials i import are set up with interpolation, and then i have to go through each one to find them, or i get extra passes when I am trying to render animation. same thing with the subdivisions, some materials you import will have 50 subdivisions, but again you dont notice that right away
Tommy L
Im sure there must be a script for this somewhere. Have a search on scriptspot for a glossy subdivs controller.

Dave Oliver
still have not been able to find a way to turn off 'use interpolation' globally. is there anyone you can pay to write a simple script like this?
Dave Buchhofer
I got annoyed at this a few weeks back too.. adapted an old little script to list which mats are glossy or interpolated, and let you double click the list to load the mat in material editor slot 1. Which_mtls_are_Glossy not much error checking or ui work into it, but it did the job for me. (The joys of opening up really old jobs makes for lots of little scripts like this!)
