Jeff Mottle
How lame is this that one person can screw up the seamless delivery of half of of the world's websites. http://www.dmxzone.com/ShowDetail.asp?NewsId=5524 http://www.dmxzone.com/ShowDetail.asp?NewsId=5703
mbr
That's really sad. I did hear about that a few weeks ago, but I thought it was limited. I've get a question, does that mean sites that 'automatically' load content into a frame, or iframe, would have to have that ridiculous pop up? Crazy - that will utterly destroy so much progress. For once, MS will have a crowd supporting their battle.
Jeff Mottle
From what I understand it only affects content that uses code:and code:tags that have blocks. This not only affects Flash it affects may third party plugins like many VR apps, sound apps, image viewers...the list goes on.
Ernest Burden III
In a commercial sporting candies from England, John Cleese quipped of Americans "oh, and let's not forget you pinched our language. If we hadn't forgotten to copyright that you would be paying us the most fantastic royalties right now". The vaguely-worded computer-era patent lottery--sometimes it pays off big. Jeff Mottle
I think I'm going to patent the finger. Insurance companies give you like $10K per finger and more for the thumb so I figure I ought to be able to sue every new mother for at least $100K per kid. If my idea works I'll go for the toes. tcorbett
Thank god I got out of the streaming video production business just in time. Now someone else has to update the thousands of embedded RealPlayer files, or field the complaint calls for that goofy pop-up dialog. Fun patent fact: did you know that if you use a laser pointer to harass your cat, you're infringing on someone's patent?
