Architect looking for a Photorealistic Vis. course

Hello,

I am a graduate architect (2008), and in this current economic it has proven difficult to secure a job in my profession. I am pretty happy with this situation anyway, as I make a decent living from online poker.

I'd still like do something useful during this time, and I was thinking a course in 3D Visualisation would be a good idea. This should also look decent on my CV for when things pick up again. I really liked 3DStudio during the architecture course, and I was pretty good at renders, altho most my renders were more conceptual rather than photorealistic.

What i want to know now is what is the best way to becoming professional 'cgarchitect'. What are the best courses for it, or is it necessary to work with a practice that specialises in it and learn the 'trade' there? I wouldnt be looking to begin this process until the new year, and in the meantime i will study online tutorials and learn the basics. I really don't care where in the world i do this (im travelling anyway), or how much it costs.

So what sort of path would you suggest? Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

You're going to get a lot of varied opinions to this one, Ger! My take - you've taken the most important step by joining this site. It truly is the best resource around for developing as aVis artist.

Secondly, there's a couple of members on this forum that can get you going very quickly. Here's the direct links...
