cjjat puresilica
Good morning everyone! Can anybody please advise a very frustrated insomniac at 5.00 am in the morning, what he has got wrong in his settings that creates what appears to be a layer of very flat mat varnish over what should be a very glossy render? Thank you. Christopher

cjjat puresilica
Hi Hughie, Thanks for your reply. Here's a typical flat image from a trial render. In vray/3ds max 2009 the image is fully glossy and all the detail is sharp, until I render that is! Any suggestions please? Thanks again, Christopher
cjjat puresilica
Hi again, You can tell I am new to this. Hopefully this time the image will attach. CJJ
cjjat puresilica
Hi again, I opened the rendered image in PhotoShop and adjusted the exposure to gamma 2.2 and have attached the image. Is this the solution, i.e the render straight from max needs the Gamma adjusting? Thanks, Christopher
sicor
Hi there, check your max settings. If you go to rendering/ environment in the exposure control you should uncheck Active and also using vray you should have in Render Scene dialog window in Global Switches unchecked Lighting/Default lights - give it a try and hopefuly your render should be all right now. Best Regards sicor
cjjat puresilica
Hi Sicor, Thank you for your advice. I already have the default lights switched off but cannot check that I have active unchecked until the current render completes. Thanks for your advice in the meantime.
