hughie
A plain UVW map is going to be problematic with complex curves. Like you have here. Is the image we are seeing the Max UVW or the Rhino? I would resort to UVW unwrap (I know most people avoid this but it’s not all that bad) And if you are using 2010, there is a nice new feature in Unwrap that lets the UVW follow a spline, which could work quite nicely in this situation
bluediablito
the images are all 3d max all i use rhino for was to model the space thanks for the fast reply by the way (i am going nuts with some views but the semester must go on lol) no i do not have 2010 (prob next semester tuition will include it) but i did see the spline uvw unwrap in 09 but i end up with a twisting map. so this is the only way to fix the mapping problem? Tommy Burns
To your last question use a slice modifier with caps turned on and before you do this hide all your cameras and lights. Hope this helps
