Hi there,

We are UK based company who do not specalise in visulization but under take a fare amount of work.

We have been approached by a property company to undertake some visualization for them.

As we do not currently directly work within the industry, our current visuals are not charged at an industry rate, rather we use it as a tool to sell our core product.

can anyone point us in the write dirction regarding how much to charge.

The project involved visualizing the fronts of 5 houses a driveway and a small turfed area, 1-3 views max.

Hope thats enough information for you to help.

Thanks

I used to charge around $70/hr for an image (70 * 15hrs = $1,050). This was as a freelance renderer in New York City and that is very cheap. Since the econ dropped my rate dropped to around $10/hr - $15/hr and my clients still complained its high.

Im broke and done freelancing. I have tons of student loans and people just refuse to pay. I can't live on it anymore. If you can get around $1,000 - $1,400 per image now (spending 20 hours on it) then I would say take it but thats just my opinion. It may just be me, but it seems like this market has killed any freelancers and if you're in a company you may be able to hold out and charge that much more.

Keep in mind the number of views and the amount of revisions to those views. If you have 3-4 angles and each has 4-5 revision passes that time really adds up and you should put together a number with that in mind.

hope this helps somehow.

Your prices are going to be directly related to your quality of work and your specific workflow invested. I would do a search on these forums as this question is asked quite a bit here. A little bit of digging and you will more than likely find alot of guidance on that topic is already archived.. =)
