Michael J. Brown
I know this is (has to be) a simple issue to rectify. But I'm learning on the fly a bit here. How can I either avoid the occurance of these left-over faces after having applying a negative extrusion on a face, or delete the left over face 'flaps' without taking out other needed faces? To get to this point I did an Extrude in the Polygon mode of the Edit Poly modifier. The Extrusion Type was Local Normal.
nymn
could you possibly inset the bottom face of the cabinet and then extrude the resulting face down for the toe-space portion?
dean@pikcells
just delete them then "bridge" the two exposed edges. a better way to get around this though would be to select the bottom face (before you extruded) and "inset" by how ever much you step in is, then extrude down again. Michael J. Brown
Thanks Dean. It just seems that there'd be an easier way than this. It's easy enough to perform for the type of object I have here. But when you get into needing to do multiple negative extrusions on the same object, the process you suggest can get to be a bit cumbersome.
