Piolit
I'm having strange viewport shading issues/artifacts in Max 2009. It only happens in perspective view and not in orthographic (see screenshots). I recently upgraded my graphics card to a GTX 260, could this be a driver issue? I've tried 4 or 5 already. What’s strange is that it’s not that large of a scene (yet) and it happens only in perspective view. From the two screenshots, all I did was change from ortho to perspective. Any ideas? Thanks. phudge
turn off (or on, cant remember which) backface culling on all the objects. im not too sure why this happens but this seems to help
Ricardo Eloy
This often happens because the thickness of your objects is too little compared to the distance you're viewing them from. That's why it doesn't happen in isometric views (it doesn't matter how far you are, things have always the same size). What you can do to avoid this is to turn Viewport Clipping on and set the near clip (the lower triangle that appears on the left of the viewport) just a tad up. It will clear the vp.
