Tim Saunders
I am wondering if anyone knows of a way in Premier to do something like the following. I have a rendered still. I want to render a region of the same space with animated things happening. I could easily render that region and composite that on top of the previously rendered still, but I am wondering if I can create a mask with blurred edges to make the region blend in with the still. Due to unlike GI solutions, you can see an edge around the rendered region. I hoped I could just make a shape in Photoshop with blurred edges, of the region I want masked. But I'm not sure how to apply the mask to the frames in Premier. Any help would be great.
vizfx
I think rendering in mov file format with transparency (alpha channel) for the composite channel is the easiest choice
Stephen Thomas
After Effects is the program for that. You can draw a shape for your mask then feather it to blend your footage. Then render out a new frame sequence or avi to bring into premiere.
