CHE
I own a 3dsmax 5 stand alone license. I would like to find out if there is a way to have my software running in my old workstation and in my new laptop at the same time. It seems that the only option that I have is the Portable License Utility, but this way I won't be able to work in both PCs simultaneously. All I want to be able to do is to work in one PC while I render in the other one. Does anyone has any ideas? Am I expecting to much from Discreet? :ngelaugh: P.S. What about networking? Christopher Nichols
Seems really simple to me... just setup a simple farm. Submit your renderings to your other computer and continue working.
CHE
Hehehehehe, I have being working with one computer until now, so excuse my ignorance. Do I need to have 3dsmax installed in both PCs? I mean, running? Could you explain the networking work flow a little bit more? Thank you. Jeff Mottle
Hey CHE, You just need to have backbuner installed on the other machines. Just type "Network Rendering" into the online help and it will descibe how to set it all up.
CHE
Thanks Jeff, btw I bought the alienware Area-51m laptop. It rocks! I'll set up my little network this weekend. Thanks again.
