scatter leaves on branches problem

i'm trying to follow this tutorial - http://www.evermotion.org/index.php?unfold_exclusive=109&unfold=exclusive, but can't get the leaves on the branches as i would like.

 

i have tried moving/rotating the pivot but i can't seem to get the stem of my leaves growing out of the branch.

 

how can i fix this?

I believe you just need to move the Pivot Point of your leaf to the far edge of its stem and that is the position the Scatter routine will use for the rest of them.

 

Select your object, go to the Hierarchy Tab, Affect Pivot Only, and just slide that PP over...

i had applied an Xform modifier and moved its centre to where i wanted but it seemed to have no effect.

 

not quite sure what i did but playing with the modifier and the Reset XForm (on the utilities panel) did the trick pivot wise so thanks for the suggestion. now i just have to get the rotation right...

 

Well then...perhaps it's time for Plan B.
