Frosty
Anyone have a source of textures/models of scientific lab workers, HazMat suit people, security guards and maintenance people. Free is not required.
Horhe
For the lab workers, you could cut out the guys from MIR vis studio
Frosty
I have found the following that gets me close. http://commerce.vismasters.com/catalog/products/laboratory-people-vol-1_635.aspx http://commerce.vismasters.com/catalog/products/security-information-people-vol-1_4138.aspx However I cannot and do not want to use RPCs. Is there away of extracting the image information so that I can use these? Any other suggestions?
Ernest Burden III
This guy's work is amazing: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/cldetails?mid=e7aa44ffbb4d9b926f14af769a57786a The poses are static, but he has a lot of people working in odd jobby outfits. If you needed something really specific, you might try contacting him to see if he would maje 'em for you.

Ernest Burden III
There is a Photoshop plugin to use RPC content. I found it to be difficult at best, but that is how you can use stuff you like without having the RPC in the render environment.
Frosty
Do you mean to add them to your scene by post? Not exactly. I use a billboard technique to integrate entourage in the 3D scene. I simply need the image and alpha information from the RPC in order to use it. As I understand it, an RPC does the same billboard technique but its all integrated into one file. I would need a plugin to use a standard RPC and I've read mixed reviews of it. I'd gladly pay for the RPC and use PS technique as Ernest suggests, if i could my required information out and use it as I like. I really don't know why ArchVision doesn't sell individual images. They're specialty collections are quite strong. Ernest, have you tried inserting an RPC into a blank PS document?
Ernest Burden III
Ernest, have you tried inserting an RPC into a blank PS document? Yes, that was my workaround to using the plugs built-in positioning system. I put the figures in a blank layer and did size/position on my own. Frosty
But I need to buy a $250 plugin to be able to use the 10 or so RPC images I will need. Correct?
Camby1298
Typically, when we are rendering more hard edge realism images that requires people inserted, well use rpc with the photoshop plugin to place them in to the scene. Sadly not many of the rpcs share the same lighting shading and color; so when you place them into photoshop you can color balance them, and adjust the brightness to make them "seem" like they fit in the scene better. Whereas, when the rpc are placed into your Max scene, they stand out like a sore thumb.
