Jeff Mottle
Hi all, Well it's been a hellish last two weeks. Working until 3am almost every day going through 4 hours of video, 1500 images and 21 Real-time projects, programming voting interfaces and transcoding streaming video, but it's FINALLY done! Although this was by far the most grueling competition admin process, I have to admit the quality of the submissions has certainly made it a worthwhile endeavor. One thing that really stood out this year were the quality of the animation submissions. These are hands down some of the best entries I've seen to date. Some truly amazing work! Of the roughly 150 animations 41 made it to the final judging round. The total run time of these accepted submissions is just under 2 hours. I'm working with Manuel over at Mundos Digitales to see if we can host an Arch Viz film festival at the conference. There are so many fantastic submissions, that I think we can actually run a 2 hour festival to show them all. Keep your fingers crossed. This year the public is able to vote for the "Industry Choice" category for both the images and the animations. Due to the complexity involved with real-time presentations, only our panel of expert judges will be voting on these. All other categories will be decided by our pre-selected judges. To start voting, go to the 3d Awards website and click the voting menu item or the voting graphic. http://www.cgarchitect.com/3dawards Good Luck to everyone! STRAT
Hi Jeff, we use every browser other than Internet Explorer in our office, meaning none of us can vote (we dont have IE installed). this is quite surprising. Any reason why?

owensharp
+1 You are blocking all Mac users by doing this - we shouldn't have to fire up BootCamp or VMWare just to vote via a web browser. Would really like to hear a good technical reason why a voting system that works on all standards-based web browsers could not be found. They exist. IE counts for only ±65-70% of browser usage and this drops rapidly once you remove the % of people who are just using IE because they don't know anything else (which pretty much removed everyone here i imagine). Shane Gee
Just been through all the stills took a while, high standard, very few weak images. Many images that deserve the award. Look forward to the results. Next the animations....
Jeff Mottle
Sorry guys the IE only issue came down to time. For whatever reason IE is the only browser that understands some javascript commands. I started to look into a fix, but in the end I did not have time. As I said I was working until 3am every day for 2 weeks, and something had to give...Mozilla compatability lost as I knew very few people come to the site using Mac only. tedesco
I thought that most of the entries are really great. What caught my attention was the animations. Building rising from the water, hurricanes blowing parts around the city, all is really great and beatiful, but where is the architecture in it????? The main objective is to show the architecture, or the emotion you would have been in it and most of the videos aren´t showing that. I´m really curious about what this prize will be an Architectural visualization or a computer graphics visualisation.
