Jason Matthews
I wonder how are aca (autocad achitectural desktop) and revit architectural?, which is the best for architect? Well Revit is the way of the future. See what everyone around you is using, i.e. consultants and other firms. BIM is growing in popularity and the support it is gaining is tremendous. I don't think anyone will be fully able to get away from CAD in the immediate future which is why AutoDesk offers a package deal to anyone who already owns a later copy of ADT or CAD. Just my two cents.
Crazy Homeless Guy
consultants Consultants are proving to be holdouts. Eventually they will be forced to, otherwise they won't get work. ...but for now, many are holdouts.

They are all holding out but the ones we are working with are just waiting for the major firms in the area to switch.
Elliot
This whole week I have been in Revit 2010 MEP. This is an interesting program requiring a lot of learning. The program need a fast computer. Everybody on the design team will have to switch to the new platform........ And many other issues. In a few month I will be able to tell you, right now just the architectural firm, the structural consultant and me have switched. I am the oldest guy in the group. I like it but I don't see too many of the other guys switching to Revit in the inmediate future. Good Luck Elliot

RAYMOND
well, I have used both for about equal time Revit may be getting the hype but it is pretty much equal to ACA (which I would prefer to go back to) as to the future, it is basically BIM that is the direction of the industry. Revit is just a subset of this... and it is not neccesary the best one.. just one of them Also, Revit features take to time learn and use properly, and it is heffty processor wise.. you really should have a 64 bit to use it. also, multiply users on the same project is somewhat "why are we doing this" ACA has the Xref, Revit has split users to the same file. Revit is a good program, but still for now it way over rated... and new users can experience some brain damage. well my take on both sides of it. ray honolulu
