mi75
I found a few images of this house that was built in Germany last year and decided I'd build a 3d representation of it between paid jobs to add to my portfolio. Its not quiet finished as I need to work on a few things but would love some feedback. Original designer: J. MAYER H. Architects, Germany Thanks Mart Max/Vray/PS
Dave Oliver
this house has quite the shape to it, however your lighting makes it look pretty flat. if you want to avoid casting shadows all over it, you could add an EIFS type texture with a little reflection, then add an HDRI map and let the angles pick up the different reflections. but i think a little stronger direct light with some soft shadows would be nice
danb4026
Cool house! Looking forward to seeing the finished product. It's a bit too clean right now to look natural. What method did you choose to use for the modeling of the house iteslf?
mi75
Thanks for the replies. The lighting I've used is HDRI so I have no direct light but I plan to add one to see if I can add some definition on the curves. As for modeling the walls, all levels are individually modeled. I used extruded lines and then converted to edit poly and shaped them. The grass in the foreground is fur but it didn't come out like I hoped so I'm now looking for a better solution such as a BIG grass map since all the ones I have are only 1-2m square as you'll notice in the background.
