markf
Ive been using Max since Version 1. I'm using MAx design 2010 64 bit. I have my texture maps in a directory G\Maps\Mymaps. Under that I have additonal folders such that I have G\Maps\Mymaps\Brick and G\Maps\Mymaps\Wood and so on. In Max I used "configure user paths".In that dialog I choose External Files. I add G\Maps\Mymaps and check "Add subpaths". Al of the folders under my G\Maps\Mymaps directory are added to the list. This is how I have always set up in the past. I have a material library. Inside that library are materials with maps that reside in the above folders. I set up a material with assigned maps and save it to the library. I start a new Max scene and open the material library. I select the previously created material. In stead of the previously assigned maps I get placeholders that say, for instance, "jpeg file" where the previously assigned jpeg map should be. The materail editor doesn't seem to be recognizing my user configured paths. Am I doing something wrong? Any one else have trouble with this? TIA for any help! markf
Joel, Thanks for your reply. I have searched around on the various AutoDesk sites, Area, Subscription, Max and can't find a hotfix for Max design 2010. Can you tell me where you found the hotfix? Thanks!
