jucaro
Hi all! After tinkering with max5 for sometime, I got fair enough results playing with the radiosity and light tracer settings. But for now, I'm stuck looking for a feature found on some of the other render engines. Now, my question is this: How does one setup an Image based lighting via 32 bit floating point TIFF? Like FinalRender, VRay and Brazil r/s et al. which has image based lighting via HDRI maps Your inputs would be very highly appreciated.
jucaro
I eventually figured it out by using the skylight and putting a HDRI or 32Bit Floating TIFF image map. Admin can probably delete this thread.
Christopher Nichols
If you have a an HDRI image in HDR file format, you will need to translate it into a floating point Tiff image. The best (free) way to do that is with hdrshop... http://www.debevec.org/HDRShop/ Chris
