hockley91
I would not be where I am at today if it were not for my architecture degree and 14 years working in the architecture field. I really don't know if a degree helps or not. I have a degree, so I guess it's nice to have one. More importantly, knowing the language and technical terms of architecture and the process of design and construction have certainly made me a great asset to my clients. They can give me a pencil sketch and just describe what they are thinking and I got it in my head. I can go through a set of drawings really efficiently. My clients give me some drawings in CAD or a rolled set. I can flip through them rather quickly if I need information on a detail or a section and I don't really bug the client unless I am really lost which is rarely. I can also go through the spec's pretty quickly also if I need to know a manufacturer or a color selection. All that experience was working in the architecture field and I would not have gotten my old job had it been for having a degree. Now, having said that I was let go of my architecture job in mid April....yeah nice to have a degree. So, having a degree doesn't really matter in the architecture field either I guess. No job is safe I know now....RRrrrrrrrrr
