mi75
Just a little image I've been playing with today. Still a few things to work on but getting their. I got the design from an image I found online. Hope you like it and feel free to comment. Mart
cadmunkey
nice image! I like the caustics on the underside of that soffit, nice touch. I think the decking needs to be brought to life a bit more somehow, maybe more bump.
ihabkal
you weren't kidding, what a view! I thought it was something completely different
Ernest Burden III
No pool, but one of my sisters has a house with that set-up on the California central coast. The Pacific is her backyard. Walk too far out of the back (more than about 15 feet) and you drop 35 feet into the ocean. The rendering is going well, but fix the boards of the deck relative to the edge of the pool. You probably knew that.
Frosty
I like the caustics on the underside of that soffit, nice touch. I don't. Where are they coming from? The glass smooth pool? Also you need a much higher quality back plate.
Tommy L
I think there is a very similar image in the cga competition.... Also, I would agree that the caustics are incorrect.
mi75
First up thanks for all the comments The boards in relation to the edge of the pool are correct if you compare to the original image which I'll post later in the "finished work" as a comparison, but I do understand what your saying. The caustics are coming from the reflection off the pool which is not smooth but has a Z variation of up to 20mm. The sun is coming from the left and hits the pool at angles of around 60 degrees which is reflecting light perfectly under the roof. Its not fudged or amplified and I assume its correct. Thanks again for the comments. Mart
BillyElNino
I really like it, I'm a big concrete fan (at the moment!) Decking looks like a great texture but agree that it needs a little work, and the loose spur hanging over the pool could be reworked I think by moving the texture map. I don't like the ergonomics of the furniture in the foreground, it just looks like it would be very upright / difficult to sit on rather than relaxed and comfortable poolside etc. I know there is a lot of 'cool' uncomfortable form over function furniture out there so it might be a model you brought in from somewhere? Oh, and woman standing still facing away from me reminds me of Blair Witch Project or The Happening which I watched the other day. ('spooky' is the watchword here!) Chris-C
Color of the ocean seems a bit intense
