hi guys

i am trying my hand at vray sun and physical cam

with one of the members advice here i was able to geta little understanding of it. i have started with f number 8 , shutter speed around 7 - 10

iso speed at 100

when i render i am not getting right colors. i mean my white walls are looking greenish or yellowish and my grey concrete also has a tint to it.

how can i achieve right colors for materials.

also the upper floors in the scene are lit properly but lower ground area is looking dark

if i try to brighten it up the upper portion becomes too bright.

how can i control these things

i am attaching a max file of the test scene i am working upon. please guide me what seetings can get me a bright day view with white looking white and other materials also better.

heres the file

i have tried to play with settings but i am just not getting it right

i either get burning ( if i try to play with intensities and camera settings or use linear mapping), less sunlight( if i try to reduce sunlight effect or yellow tint), dark shadows( if i have less skylight or wrong color mapping) and various problems like these while playing with these settings. please also see the file and see if the environment needs to be on or whetehr i have vray sky at right places.

i would really appreciate help from u guys

Thanks

You don't have GI turned on for the renderer so you aren't getting any bounced light. Additionally you'd probably want to start off with the camera's color balance set to daylight.

Attached image is your scene, GI enabled, "daylight" for camera's white balance, gamma set to 2.2. and vignetting turned off. You're not far off but it looks like you need to learn some of the basics to get you started.

You might be better off to look up some exterior tutorials to get you started with vray, from the looks of the scene you're never worked with it before.

Not sure, although I did get an error saying you are working with an older version of vray so perhaps some of your settings didn't transfer over. Which brings up another point of make sure you're using the latest release to get the best quality/speed.

That's not a quick question to answer..... do some research on Linear Work Flow and gamma correction, there's lots of threads on the site here for you to read. Shortest answer I can give is that it allows for proper simulation of real world lighting.

I did not change the color mapping it's set to linear, 1 bright/ 1 dark.

No change on any sun settings, but did change the camera's color balance to "daylight" and turned vignetting off. (the vignetting is just a personal preference, I do that in post)

so i use vray 1.5 SP3 or Sp2?

i think my settings have not transferred properly as my scene here has reinhard at .7 burn value

can u send me the scene back so that i can see the settings

thanks a ton brian
