rogue3d
I've searched for this and came up with nothing. Not even sure how to title this thread so I'll just explain what is happening. When I'm working in any viewport mode, doesn't matter if it's top, left, orthanglnal what ever.......I select an object and the viewport jumps into perspective view. Also happens when I'm in say for example top view and go to draw a box, the second I click in the viewport to begin the creation of the box the viewport jumps from a top view into perspective. I've never seen anything like this I can't figure out what the hell is happening or how to fix it. extrelemy annoying. this happening to anyone else? rogue3d
Check this thread: http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/35396-view-jumping-upon-selection-deselection-objects.html thanks I'll try it. I deleted AutoCamMax.bak after the first week with 2009 because it was causing my network renders to crash. I unchecked the sensitivity box so I'll see if that helps. Tim Fairbanks
David - I don't have any help to offer in solving this problem, but I did have the same problem in 3dsmax 2010 after first installing (I know - different version of max, but same problem). Since then, I've updated video drivers a couple times and patched 3dsmax 2010 to the latest version, and the problem has apparently gone away. This makes it hard to identify the cause, and even harder to suggest a fix. I guess my experience indicates that this is not an isolated problem, so you're not alone. Good luck. Timf bev.lynn's suggestion worked. see her thread that she linked too. it was the sensitivity check box for the viewport wheel that seemed to be causing it. After unchecking that box I haven't experienced the problem. Seems like an odd fix since I had the wheel deacticvated since day one of installing 2009. I did however delete the Autocammax.back file like I said because I read in another thread here that was the cause of my network renders crashing. maybe getting rid of that file and keeping the senitivity box checked created a conflict, but it works fine now.
