jjackson
I am building brick patterns using Grasshopper for a 80' x 25' wall and when i bake them into Rhino the file size is enormous. there may be no way around this, but if anyone knows any tricks to reduce file sizes whether it's in rhino or GH please let me know. thanks. SimonNelson
I know that this might not give you the detail you want but I ran into exactly the same problem with Grasshopper. On one recent project, I got up to a file of 85mb and the computer couldn't handle it. However, I now have exactly the same but at about 6mb. For me, there were 2 issues. First, the way I had built my definition seemed to embed a lot of data and secondly, I was baking more than needed. By considering other ways of building the definition, I was able to vastly reduce file size. I am guessing that if you are doing a brick wall, you might be using an extrude function and this is what got me into the most trouble. In my case, I was dividing a surface and extruding at the end. I hope that helps a little. You might also want to try the grasshopper community (link on Rhino site).
