Crazy Homeless Guy
i am using the cloth reactor to simulate a sheet laying on a medical exam bed. i have a cloth reactor applied to my sheet, and a rigid body reactor applied to my mattress. when i execute the reactor, the sheet stops about 6 inches above the mattress. i would like to change this, so it stops at a more accurate distance above the mattress. i have looked through the help files, but i am not sure what settings i need to change to modify this. anyone know? ...alternatly, i could execute the reactor, then simply move the sheet to be closer, but for what i am doing, i would rather it wok right without using a work around. Crazy Homeless Guy
it worked with the sheet hitting the bed at a proper height, but i was still having a problem with the sheet sliding off of the bed after it dropped. i tried all of the gravity i could, but it did not want tostay on. since then somone directed me to a free pug-in called 'simcloth' which was perfect for doing this. it only available for max 5, and has not been ported to max 6 yet. Jape
Actually i did find a simcloth for max6, its just the installer for max5 with a changed dll wich you have to replace with the max5 one in your plugin folder, did not try it out yet, but let me now if you need it, Jape,
ZepSOFD
CHG, Have you tried increasing the friction on the reactor soft body odject? see example below: Friction Low: http://www.wellespugsleyarchitect.com/tom/frictionLow.wmv Friction High: http://www.wellespugsleyarchitect.com/tom/frictionHigh.wmv tom
amooori
it worked with the sheet hitting the bed at a proper height, but i was still having a problem with the sheet sliding off of the bed after it dropped. Try attaching the cloth to the bed (rigid body). You can find the exact steps in 3ds max's tutorials.
