hi all

i was using max 2008 and vray 1.5SP1 till now

but then i shifted to max 2009 and vary 1.5SP2 today

one of my scenes which was quite heavy was rendering alright at 3600 pixels on max 2008 and vray 1.5 SP1 on the same PC but its crashes when starting to render inside max 2009 and vray 1.5SP2

what is the problem.

now i cant even go back to max 2008 as i have saved it in 2009 version and 2009 is just not rendering it.

please help how can i render it

P.S i have diabled view cube so thats not the problem of crash. its crashing only when it starts to render and not while working

thanks

i still have 2008 installed. but i had thought i had overwritten the file in max 2009 but i realised that when max crashes it doesnt save the actual file but it makes a recover copy of it

so my old 2008 file was intact and my recover file was 2009 format.

But does that mean i should not shif to max 2009 and vray 1.5 SP2? even for new scenes?

thanks

I had same problem, somehow it mysteriously got fixed. Try this, open new file and merge everything from the other file and try to render. Another thing you can do is re-apply all materials, start with 1 vray material and apply it to all the objects in the scene, then render. If it renders, then it was a material problem. Also, it might be because of 32-bit system, so you might want to consider switching to 64-bit windows and max2009 if you haven't done so yet.
