isaac_cm
Hello, I render a small scene with default scan line and the render output is 16 bit rgba color, how I can make it 32 bit ? Thanks
dean@pikcells
I should imagine you would have to re-render it at 32 bit, as you won't be able to gain the extra information stored in 32 bit from simply changing the image properties. I presume that's why you would want 32 bit right?
Stephen Thomas
32-bit file types that max can export are HDR and EXR. Make sure to save your files with an output gamma of 1.0 as well. And don't be confused by the 32-bit TGA format which is actually 8-bits per channel.
isaac_cm
so 16 bit is the maximum result image I can get from a render ?
Stephen Thomas
No, if you save your render as an HDR or EXR file then it is 32-bit. Can I ask what it is you're doing that you require a 32-bit output? Rendering to 16-bit usually gives you enough scope to make exposure changes etc.
