birdman67
Like most people, I have many, many 3D models in either .max or .3ds format. Does anyone know of a software package (preferably free!) that allows the user to view thumbnail images of the models, and perhaps categorize? Drag and drop features? If not, any suggestions on being able to quickly/visually see the models, other than "thumbnail view" in windows explorer? Thanks in advance
Guest BLADE
Maybe you can find something for the *.3ds because this is a simple and old file type. But you will have no luck with the *.max files. Max files are designed to be bunch of instructions which can be layered (construction history) to build the geometrie that moment you open the file in max. So a viewer needs to have most of the skills 3ds max has. Greets BLADE
birdman67
Seems like a good "wishlist" idea for AutoDesk...much like the Design Connected plugin for Vray with drag/drop capability, which operates much like the material browser, except for models. BrianKitts
What you're looking for already exists within 3dsmax, it's called the asset browser, it can be found in the utilities section of the command panel.
